Obituary for Marilyn Ann Thomas

Muncie – Marilyn Ann Thomas went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 12, 2017. She fought the battle with Alzheimer's. She may have lost the battle, but she certainly won the war.

She passed away peacefully in her sleep. Marilyn was born September 3, 1929 and was an active member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She played the piano, sang in the choir and counted the offering. She served as NMI treasurer.

You could always count on her to prepare a meal for the various church functions. She loved going out to eat with her group of ladies from the church. You could also count on seeing the biggest smile and shiny blue eyes when she would see little kids.

She loved life. She worked for many years for Ball Corporation. She would always say that she kept all the employees "in line." She is survived by a son Mark Farris (wife Lynne), Denver, Colorado, 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 5 nieces, 1 nephew. The union between Jim and Marilyn brought a son Jerry (Jody) Thomas, and a daughter Janette (Max) Stackhouse.

A special thanks goes to Bill Jones for being committed with his love and care for as long as he could and Bev Swinford. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by "the love of her life for 20 years," James Thomas, a son, Paul Farris, daughter, Leah Vickery and a brother, Robert Rhea. She also will be greeted in heaven by Rachael Stackhouse. A special thanks goes out to Kindred Hospice nurses (Meredith Briles and Jodi Wagner), aides (Lisa Martin and Dapriel Jefferson) and staff for making her final days comfortable. You are truly appreciated.
