Obituary / Death Notice

Shirley gave her life to God at 19 years old. She was a loving and devoted mother to Chree Latham (Calvin Latham), Kotrese Jones (Corey Jones) and Sammie Carroll (Andrea Carroll). Shirley loved her grandchildren and it was a great joy to sing to them praises of God.

Shirley always sang happy birthday to all her children and grandchildren. She taught them to treat others the way you wanted to be treated even when they did not treat you right. Her entire life was devoted to serving the Lord and to teach her family to serve God with their whole heart, mind, soul and body.

Shirley taught her family to trust in the Lord and never lose faith. She was a bold soldier for Jesus and she never took down for anyone. "The Baptism in Jesus name is right and there is only one God and we get one chance to make it right." Shirley Terry was the Pastor of Angelic Word Aflame for 14 years and her life is a testament to all, she would tell you now this day cancer did not take my life, my God took me home.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Albert Terry and Willie May Terry, her sister Marilyn Smith, niece; Shan Terry and Great Nephew Earnest Terry III. She leaves to cherish her memory her children; Chree Latham (Calvin), Kotrese Jones (Corey), Sammie Andrew Carroll (Andrea), stepson; Chris Carroll (Lisa), one brother; Ernest Carroll (Betty), sisters; Alma Walker, Carolyn Williams (Charles), Joyce Terry, Delois Stirgis (Lewis), Mae Scott (Kenneth), Debra Carroll (Miles), Barbara Andres (Rodney), Erma Shepherd (Joe), step sister; Linda Perry and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017, 11:00am at First Pentecostal Church, 5302 Hwy 161, North Little Rock, Arkansas.
